Sommelier

to join our Food & Beverage team

Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf and Spa is one of the country’s finest 5 star hotels, set in the heart of 1065 acres of historic gardens and parkland.  Excellent transport links mean we are only 30 minutes by train from St Pancras, a 10 minute drive to Luton Airport and 5 minutes from the M1.
We are looking for an exceptional individual who is passionate about providing first class customer service to exceed our guests’ expectations.

Sommelier Overview

We are looking for a Sommelier to organise the service of all beverage refreshments to our guests in our 2 AA Rosette Wernher Restaurant. The Sommelier will control and manage the Restaurant wine dispense; ensuring that at all times the presentation of wine service enhances the guest experience whilst maintaining the maximum quality standards required for optimum guest satisfaction and profitability.  Part of the Sommelier role will be to review the wine list, attend consultations and assist in the implementation of new menus, food concepts and wine tastings.

Attributes/Experience
A varied wine and beverage knowledge is essential. Previous experience of serving a wide selection of wine and beverages within a busy, quality food and beverage establishment is also essential.  Direct wine waiting skills from a restaurant with an extensive wine list is desirable.  Experience of silver serving food or other serving styles would be advantageous. Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the confidence to run service and train the team.
